conducted a study on biodiesel production from vegetable oil using supercritical methanol process. The optimal residence time at 35 MPa and 310 °C was 25 min. However, the maximum production yield was only 77% under optimal reaction conditions suggesting loss caused by side reactions of unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters at high reaction temperature. In our work, lower temperature (175 °C) and longer reaction time (8 h) were used and fatty acid methyl esters content of 92.18% was obtained.
