This program will provide U.S. academics, who can function as expert advisors and lecturers on a variety of subject areas, as well as curriculum and faculty development and institutional planning issues.
This program differs from the traditional Fulbright Scholar competition in that CIES builds rosters of specialists in a variety of field through an online application process. Applicants recommended by specialist peer review committees and approved by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board become candidates for Fulbright Specialists awards. As countries request Fulbright Specialists through their local Fulbright commission or U.S. Embassy, CIES matches candidates with appropriate projects or programs. When a request is received, Fulbright Specialists candidates are contacted to ascertain their availability for final consideration.
GRANT COST: Cost for the Fulbright Specialist Program will be shared by the office in Washington, D.C. and the Thai host university. Fulbright will pay for international travel and a daily honorarium of US$ 200. The host institute in Thailand will be asked to cover the Fulbrighter’s lodging, meals, and in-country travel.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A SPECIALIST TO WORK WITH YOUR INSTITUTION
There is the form that the host needs to complete for our further consideration. If the request has been approved by TUSEF, we will forward the approved request to Washington in order to find an appropriate scholar for that project. For the procedure in Washington D.C., the Washington Office needs at least two months prior to the anticipated program. The more lead time available, the better the recruitment effort can be.
