Recollections about family
members’ perceived controllability of diabetes
will be positively related to participants’ percep-
tions of controllability of their own diabetes. A
statistically significant and positive relationship
was observed between recollections about family
members’ controllability and participants’ own
controllability (r¼.21, n¼108, p¼.03), indicat-
ing that perceptions of control in family members
was associated with perceptions of control in
participants.
