Being an effective coachee
People being coached also have an important role to
play in establishing a positive coaching relationship.
They must: participate in the identification of suitable
topics for coaching; jointly set realistic performance
targets and creative methods of achieving them; take
responsibility for their own development; undertake
comprehensive preparations before coaching meetings
to maximise the development process; be open and
direct in discussion with coaches; and accept
constructive feedback on skill acquisition and
development progress.
