For any website that has an identity closely connected to a specific country other than the United States, use that country's top-level domain. A country-specific domain is appropriate either for localized sites that feature a particular country's language and/or content, or for sites that are differentiated because they are located in that country. If the site also has customers outside of its country, and especially if it has customers in the United States, it's good to also register the name with ".com" as the top-level domain. For example, Asia Cuisine is a Singapore-based company, but it appeals to an international audience. Users can reach the site by either the Singapore URL, http://www.asiacuisine.com.sg or http://www.asiacuisine.com.
