Holliday (2005) further argues that ―prestige and image‖ are embedded in all people‘s minds no matter what society they belong to. In the same light, Jenkins (2006) claims this inequality in job opportunities is happening worldwide and that ―employers continue to argue that they are obliged to provide the (native speaker) teacher that learners (and in many cases, their parents [italics added]) prefer‖ (p. 172).
