Post mix dispensing is very widely
used in catering establishments in the
major industrialized countries.
Postmix dispensing involves
installation, at each vending outlet, of
what is effectively a miniature
carbonated drink manufacturing unit,
which mixes a concentrated syrup with carbonated
water at point of dispensing. receives
no Water is obtained from the mains
supply and usually other than
straining through a scale trap,
although in treatment some areas a
carbon prefilter is also fitted. The
water is cooled to containing CO2 at a
pressure ca. 3 C and carbonated in a
chamber of 3 bars. Syrup is supplied
either in small stainless steel tanks or
in a bag-in-box‘. The syrup is either
pumped or propelled by C02 through
a cooling coil and mixed with the
carbonated water at the controlled to
keep the dispense head. Mixing must
be C02 in solution and the final
product should leave the dispense
