The controlled release of proteins (molecules) is of interest for
medical applications, since the dose can be adjusted according to the
necessity of the patient. Our results indicate that MET is incorporated
in a NRL matrix and that the novel drug-delivery system released the
MET content from the polymeric matrix during up to 4 days. Because
the characteristics of NRL membranes may be modified by changing
the experimental conditions, one may envisage that the prolonged
release reported here may be tailored for specific applications.
