There are many Chinese Temples in Phuket of which Jui Tui Shrine is the largest and oldest. This place of worship has many names such as Pud Jor Shrine, Kiew Ong Tai Tae or Jiew Huang Ta Tee. The original location of the shrine was in Soi Rommani. After a fire broke out in the area, people brought up the Heiw Hoei, or the holy fire, to the rest in Pud Jor Shrine which has been its permanent resting place until the present day. Visitors who wish to pay homage to Kiew Ong and the holy fire, can catch a local minibus to Phuket Town till the end of the line, then keep walking about 450 metres along Ranong Road to Jui Tui Shrine.
