Every Christmas I wake up at the first glimmer of sunlight (or before) and look outside my room to see my stocking packed full of present. Christmas is my favorite holiday for several reasons. I've always liked decorating the Christmas tree. My family also has a tradition of making cookies for Christmas. Opening presents is a big part of Christmas for my family. During the Christmas season my family and I make cookies, decorate the tree, and open presents.
The (Christmas) cookie is a symbol of Christmas in my home. My family makes several different kinds of cookies for Christmas. One kind of cookie my family makes is called a biscochito; it is a traditional Mexican Christmas cookie. My family makes them every year. We also make cherry cookie press cookies. They are regular sugar cookies with cherries in the center and sprinkles. They are delicious. We sometimes bring the cookies to my grandma and grandpa's house to share. Everybody wants one. Cookies may seem like a big part of my family tradition but it's not it's a huge part.
Presents, they are a gigantic part of Christmas in my family. I got my mom a bicycle helmet that my dad and me picked out. My sister got a thing to make stuffed animals with called Magic Fabric that she loves. I got lots of things. I built my new clock with my dad. The clock has a projector in it so it can project the time on the selling. I also did my science kit with my grandpa. I've been doing my rock tumbler (polishes rocks) with my grandma. Presents play a big part in my family's Christmas.
On Christmas (Christmas season) my family does several super special things. One thing we do is make cookies. We also decorate the Christmas tree. The best thing though is giving and getting presents. Christmas is the best holiday because we do these three things.
