5.8. HAZARDS OF NON-ROUTINE TASKS
In order to assure employees and contractors are informed of the hazards of non-routine tasks, the following permits and procedures have been established:
• Permit to Work - Prior to performing any work in a production unit or area, the employee, contractor, or visitor must first obtain a Permit to Work from the equipment owner. Permits to Work ensure full communication of the hazards involved between production and the individual(s) performing the work. The information communicated during the permit process, any special precautions and/or restrictions are conveyed in the written permit and posted at the job site. (Refer to OI-L2-323 Permit to Work.)
• SOPs - Standard Operating Procedures - SOPs address routine and non-routine tasks. These SOPs are designed to communicate the proper procedures for addressing hazards and precautions for routine, non-routine, and maintenance tasks.

7. RECORD RETENTION
SDSs shall be managed and retained within the Chemwatch Database. Records shall be managed and retained as required by the Group Minimum Standard, OI-L2-715 Records Management.
