As in other reports from Europe and recently published from Germany, we could confirm—at least in trends—most risk factors for late presentation to HIV care in our cohort. 54 % of 348 patients were late presenters to care and 50.4 % of 260 patients were late presenters with a history of HIV diagnosis 3 months ago or less (late presenters to diagnosis). 31.2 % of them presented very late with CD4 T cell counts 200/ll, meeting the criteria of advanced stage of HIV infection. This corresponds to the proportion of 49.5 % of late presenters to diagnosis according to the national case surveillance in the years 2001–2010 [12].
