A wide variety of transducers are used to measure temperature. Some of them convert temperature directly to an electrical signal, and others must be used in combination with an electrical transducer to convert the temperature indication into an electrical form. In to accuracy, designers must consider response time, linearity, noise sensitivity long-term stability, ambient conditions when temperature systems are designed or and analyzed. The most common temperature transducers include the following:
1. Bimetallic strips
2. Thermocouples
3. Resistance-temperature detectors
4. Thermistors
5. Semiconductor temperature sensors
6. Radiation pyrometer
Each is best suuted for a particular application or range of temperatures.
