Media relations specialist is responsible for moderating communications between the organization and various media outlets such as newspapers, radio broadcasts, television stations, online media and influencers. Responsible for informing the media when something new happens within the organization. Leverage the relationship with media to withhold negative news of the company once it happens.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic media relationship management plan to create effective communication channels.
Manage media lend-out vehicles and provide activities summary.
Coordinating with PR agencies in composing and editing press releases, assembling press kits, monitoring coverage/metric reports and provide executive summary.
Ensure the company protects and promotes its image in a proper, coordinated, and consistent manner.
Cultivate and enhance collaborative working relationships within the press and publicity community.
Gather and disseminate timely information to press and staff.
Detect public relations issues as they emerge and address them directly.
Research and write briefing materials.
