Avocados are the Food of the Week
This week we celebrate the creamy texture and delicious taste of avocados when they are in the peak of their season. While it is true that avocados are high in fat, almost two-thirds of the fats they contain are the heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, like those found in olive oil—one of the primary reasons for the many health benefits derived from the Mediterranean diet.
