An F-test was applied to all equations to determine each equation's
level of statistical significance, and the goodness of fit of each model to the data (Table 4). The F statistics and their level of significance demonstrated that all 12 equations fit the data well. This goodness of fit test also identified that the model for the HV polarization had the best fit
when considering LAI estimation from RADARSAT-2 for both corn and soybeans fields. For UAVSAR, models which use any of the three polarizations provided an equally good fit. Themodels parameterized to estimate LAI for corn using L-band data had a significantly better fit compared to any of the models (HH, VV or HV) for soybeans.
