Two separate directorates that were Railways and Harbours Construction and Airports and Fuel Facilities Construction, were joint together by the order of the law 1609 on 13.07.1972 and named as “Railways, Harbours and Airports Construction General Directorate”. This General Directorate is divided into three directorates in 1977 but these were joined together in 1983 by the order of the articles of association of the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement and named as “General Directorate of Railways, Harbours and Airports Construction”. In 1986 this General Directorate started to work under the Ministry of Transportation and still serving under this Ministry.
