One of the most important holidays in Korea is Chuseok (추석), which occurs on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. This year Chuseok will take place from September 26 to September 29, one day longer than the standard 3-day Chuseok holiday.
Though the official holiday period is from September 26 to September 28, September 29 has been designated as a substitute holiday. Tourists are recommended to check the operating hours in advance during the Chuseok holiday. Below is a list of Chuseok holiday schedules and hours of operation for some of the main tourist sites and shops in Korea.
