Prior departure from loading port, PORT shall give to the Master a “Damage Prevention Letter to Master” with written instructions regarding the actions required to take care of the steel pipes cargo during the sea voyage. It is recommended as a minimum a daily inspection (weather permitting) of cargo spaces, in order to check all lashing and securing arrangements, adjusting as necessary the lashing wires/turnbuckles and placing wedges/dunnage to take up any slack which may occur due to cargo settling.
