On the Akana workplace where the last process is fulfilled, the welding operation of the frame that provides parts to be assembled to the body and of traverse is made.
• This workplace is quite far from automation. The fact that the machine is adjusted by
an operator in each process step permanently as from the locating of the body to the
workplace causes the system to slow down and unnecessarily and risky use of manpower because of the shortage of area (Human, Machine, Method).
When the scarp status on the production line of the bodies of 45cm is examined, the total of scarps is 136 between December 2005–June 2006. Annual number of scrap is approximately ([136/7]∗12) 233 units and the annual cost of these scraps is about 6,500 Euro. Since the actions are not re-recorded, the costs incurring with the re-processing operations are not calculated.
