Based on our records, your attendance since the start of your course has fallen below 80%.
As you hold a student visa, DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection) requires you to attend at least 80% of your course. It is the college's responsibility to monitor your attendance and inform DIBP if you do not do so.
The college must now report you to DIBP due to poor attendance unless you can show a reason why you should not be reported. If you wish to appeal, you can submit an internal appeal in writing to me within 20 working days from today.
Your appeal should:
1. be in writing, and
2. include any evidence such as medical certificates or other documents that give reasons why you have been absent.
If your internal appeal is denied, we will let you know by sending an email to your student email account and we will also forward a copy of an External Appeal Application Form. You will then have 5 working days from receipt of this notice in which to return this form either to me to forward it on to OSO, who provide an External Appeals Service, or you can send it to OSO yourself.
Whilst you are appealing, we encourage you to continue studying.
Please note that the external appeal only reviews student concerns in relation to Group College Australia's internal appeals and procedures process. You cannot submit further evidence or challenge the actual decision.
Yours faithfully,
