Vistrails[Callahan et al.,2006] is a visualization management system that provides a scientific workflow infrastructure, which can be combined with existing visualization systems and libraries. A key feature that sets Vistrails apart from previous visualization systems is support to data exploration.It separates the notion of dataflow specification from its instances. A dataflow instance consists of a sequence of operations used to generate a specific visualization . The approach adopted in Vistrails inspired the strategy behind the software we have developed.Among some of the difderences in our solution is the use of a BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) in the ScWfMS [EclipseBPEL].
