Student satisfaction of the laboratory demonstrators was
low in the school and a training program was implemented to
help improve the laboratory learning experience. During the
implementation of the program it was noticed that many of the
demonstrators had strong theoretical knowledge but were
severely lacking in terms of practical skills. This included
knowledge on how to use the equipment in the laboratory, as
well as an understanding of how to correctly troubleshoot
problems. This problem needed to be rectified, because the
laboratory is important for the development of hands on skills
[12], and it was unacceptable to have demonstrators lacking
these fundamental skills. As a result a website was created that contained tutorial videos, information and manuals that the
laboratory demonstrators could use as preparation material.
