Studies have shown that social and
emotional skills are a more important
determinant for life success than
professional competence in any
particular field. While it is not likely
that a reclusive personality can be
converted into a social butterfly, it is
possible to teach children
socialization skills at an early age.
The best way for them to develop
good social skills that they can use in
life is to practice these skills while in
school. Student-centered schools, by
virtue of giving more opportunities
for students to work in collaborative
settings, thus provide better life
preparation.
