Television commercials are often insulting to womanThis HAS to be Axe!
As far as I know, their ads are censored a lot (some are even banned) in India. Great. I like to believe that still doesn't help their case here.
It's not just the way they are filmed, but the way they are conceptualized... is it just me, or there really IS something disgusting about it, every single time?
But that's not the point here.
All the men out there who think that it takes just a spraying of this deodorant to become a woman-magnet (quite literally), raise your hand.
My guess is that nobody on Quora can belong to that "school of thought". But wait, is there anybody else who can? No, no, is that even a "school of thought" yet?
Then why the hell is it the key concept that the advertising guys at Axe have been building upon, year after year?!
Of course, the concept insults the intelligence of women; or rather, the entire womankind. But really, does it not insult the intelligence of men—the brand's obvious potential customers?
It’s amazing how many commercials essentially say, “We don’t think you’re very smart so we feel free to insult your intelligence by blatantly manipulating your fears and insecurities.”
