An influential teacher to me was Mr. Jaragui from Berendo Middle School. He was my Science teacher in 8th grade. He was strict as a teacher but cool as a person. I passed his class with a D, for a moment I thought I wasn’t going to graduate because of him. I went to tutoring every day, before and after school so I could get extra credit, and understand more about Science. Science wasn’t my favorite subject but I still had to pass it. Before graduation, he talked to the class and gave us advices about High School. He told us to make sure to pass the CAHSEE. Also, he told us to get a good job in our future and to go to college. Also, that real life is not easy at all. He even talked to all the parents from my classmates, he told them to not buy us a lot of expensive stuffs if we didn’t have good grades, to apply to college so we could be able to get a better future. My parents were really Thankful to him because he influenced me with my academics. He showed me that if I want something I have to work hard to be able to get it. In 2007, when I was graduating on stage, he told me “Fredy, how does it feel to be here were thousands of people are looking at you”? And I said “It feels great, Thank you Mr. Jaragui for all your support.” I felt proud of myself when I was on stage, because on of my dreams came true. That’s why he is an influential teacher to me.
