In contrast, since the first impact paper
was published in 1977, the 250 impact papers were cited 4583 times
had an h index of 32 and the year with the most citations was 2009,
when 959 citations and 33 papers were recorded. The top 6 most cited
articles were published in Science and there were well over 100
authors with more than one paper published on fishing impacts.
Despite the delay from 1977 to 1996 in publishing a solutions paper,
there is scant evidence that the impacts papers are giving way to a rise
in solutions studies and citations.
