One Tambon One Product Project (OTOP) is an important policy of the government that
has been carried on since AD. 2001 with the objectives to solve poverty, create employment, create revenue and strengthen the community, inspired by the concept and principles of One Village One Product Project (OVOP) that is successful in Japan. OTOP project is a project that helps people in the community to create occupation and revenue by using available resources and knowledge that is the folk wisdom to produce quality goods and product and sell them to create revenue for the community. Currently, there are producer groups, entrepreneurs registered as producer groups and OTOP producers totaling 36,092 persons, which consist of community producer group for 24,327 persons, community producers who is the sole owner for 10,303 persons, and producers who are small and medium enterprises for 726 persons. The total number of products registered as OTOP products is 71,739 products.
