Last month, my aunt died. It was funeral at Sri Boon Ruang temple ( Nong Bua Lam Phu ). Funeral held for three days and in three days have many ritual. Start from list order to do every day and the last day is important day. First, after died is took a bath the body and move to house or temple for religious ceremonies. Religious ceremony is pray for funeral in every night (1 day, 3 days, 5 days and 7 days rely on family). And then, last day is cremation. Cremation; organize a ceremony to ordain as novices or monks offspring called “ordination in front of the fire” is believed that the ordination front of the fire was brought dead to heaven because Buddhist respect the monk and religion is a spiritual anchor. And next the monks pray bangsukun. And then a natural river pebbles is a charitable practice finished in front of the body. The day after cremation family will come to get the bone and keep back to house and water scattering (loy aungkarn) according to the beliefs of ancient people to those who have passed away like water. After funeral, family will make merit. There is merit to do death day anniversaries, charity (due 7 days, 50 days, 100 days), but the current practice will be held 7 days popular charities.
