The pie chart illustrates the proportion of causes of worldwide land degradation in 1990. There are four reasons why this problem happened namely, over-grazing, over cultivation, deforestation and other. It is clear from the chart that over-grazing was the major cause.
Over – grazing was the main cause of land degradation at 35 percent while deforestation and over-cultivation came as the second and third most important factors at the percentage of 30 and 28 respectively. The seven percent out of total of land degradation was caused was by other factors; it was five times less than the figure of over-grazing.
The table provides the percentage of effects from a decrease in agricultural land in three regions. From the table, it is readily apparent that Europe was affected by land degradation the most at 23 percent while Oceania came next at 13 percent. North America was affected by this problem the least at only five percent.

IELTS Examiner’s Comments: You need to review your hold of prepositions as they were more often than not wrong. However, in terms of grammar, your writing is in the band 6 region. I suggest you don’t rephrase the variables (ie. deforestation should become “the clearing of forests”, over- grazing can be rephrased as “grazing by cattle”, etc.) Good luck with it and keep up the good work!!
