The following is a summary of the Saxon Group’s findings (Axson,2007):
Only 20 percent of the organizations utilized an integrated performance management system. Although this was up from less than 10 percent just 5 year prior.
Fewer than 3 out of 10 companies development plans that clearly identified the expected results of major projects or initiatives. Instead, they focused on the wrong things. Financial plans did not show the expected costs and benefits of each initiative nor did they identify the total investment involved. tactical plans failed to describe major initiatives to be undertoken.
