The effect of the slat thickness is now taking into consideration.
By considering Fig. 4a and b, one can see that the shape of the closed enclosure considered becomes more complex when slat angle is changed.
Since the thickness of the blind is relatively small when compared to the distance between the two slats.
To model the 6 surfaces closed enclosure to agree with the actual configuration of the space between the two curved blind with thickness, the modified shape will not be significantly differed from the shape defined earlier for the curved blind without thickness.
Therefore in this study the original shape of the closed enclosure for the curved blind is used for the reason of simplicity.
The correction factor to account for the effect of thickness as developed by EnergyPlus (2005) is adopted.
The blind correction factor can be determined from the geometry shown in Fig. 4.
