Background
Mobile technology entered the general educational environment
around two decades ago, and more recently in nursing programs
(Swan et al., 2013, p. 192). Su and Liu (2012) mention that “mobile
devices are increasingly being used to extend the humanmind's limited
capacity to recall and process large numbers of relevant variables to
support information management, general administration, and clinical
practice” (p. 1139) in the nursing environment. Because of the need to
access evidence-based information swiftly in health care, personal digital
assistants “(PDAs) and other handheld computing devices are becoming
a valued addition to the toolbox of information technology
