Things worked out well for the fuel pump attendant insulted by a civil servant, who posted her photo on his Facebook page and labelled her an "ugly human being". She scored a movie role.
Yasothon-native Nuanprang "Namtao" Sriboonmee arrived in Bangkok at 5am Tuesday to play a scene in the action movie, "Fast and Furious 8" (888 แรงทะลุนรก), directed by popular comedy film director Poj Arnon.
"At first, I thought it was a prank but Poj's crew contacted my mum and the gas station manager. I made the decision almost right away. I am a fan of Poj and this is a lifetime experience for me," Namtao told reporters.
She said her husband travelled with her to Bangkok. Her daughter was being looked after by her grandpa in Yasothon.
As for Pongsak Kensing, the local government finance officer who posted her photos and criticised her appearance on Facebook, Namtao said the issue was settled. The man had already apologised to her and her family, and he was also aware that she was approached by Poj.
