For those who prefer private health care there are efficient private hospitals. There are institutes such as the Jerudong Park Medical Centre which has an excellent reputation.
All medical students have to attend university overseas as there are no medical schools in the country. This does look set to change though, as Brunei is beginning to create facilities for training its own nurses and doctors.
The National Health Policy is handled by the Ministry of Health. It has been designed to provide the people of Brunei with the highest level of health care that is cost effective as well as providing a high quality of life for the entire population in a clean and healthy environment.
