The 2003 Renewable Energy Action Plan may contribute to an increase of energy supply based on the country’s potentials for renewable energy technologies. The total installed capacity of solar power reached 205 kW in 2002, and significantly grown up to 300 kW in 2004.21 The Wind Energy Resources Atlas Report shows that a potential of wind energy sources in Southeast Asia, including Cambodia, amounts to 1,380 WM.22 Biofuel may be another alternative source of energy since it can be generated from oil crops such as oil palm and soybean. According to the ADB report in 2009, paddy rice contributed the highest to biofuel at 54 percent, followed by vegetables at 8 percent, rubber at 5 percent, and soybean and tobacco at 3 percent.
