Preparation of β-glucan-enriched materials from Lentinus
edodes mushrooms
Lentinus edodes mushrooms, also named Chamsong-Imushrooms,
were obtained from Hanabiotech Ltd. (Kyunggi-do, Korea), oven
dried at 55 ◦C for 24 h, and then ground to pass through a 50-
mesh sieve. Themushroom powder (3 g) was dispersed in distilled
water (60 mL) and agitated for 5 min. After filtration withmiracloth
(Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany), the residue was re-suspended
in distilled water (60 mL), followed by autoclaving at 120 ◦C for
10 min. After cooling at room temperature for 1 h, the slurry was
filtered with miracloth and the residue was freeze dried.
