Veerachai Chaisrakeow, an assistant director of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand's (Egat) Civil Maintenance Division, also assured the public that all 35 electric dams, seven of them located close to fault lines, had been equipped with well-designed technology against quakes, especially the Srinakarin dam in Kanchanaburi province. "For Srinakarin and Vajiralongkorn dams, which are a cause of concern for a lot of people worried about their safety, we have already set up an earthquake detection device and a daily monitoring system," he said.
