The locations of the glycosidic
linkages of 1 were elucidated by analysis of the 2DNMR
spectra, which were measured in a mixed solvent
of pyridine-d5 and methanol-d4 (11:1) to remove
exchangeable protons and minimize signal overlap.
Complete assignment of the 1H NMR signals of the
three monosaccharides and the aglycone were
achieved by inspection of the ~H-~H COSY spectrum,
combined with the HOHAHA data, starting from the
easily distinguished anomeric protons as shown in
Tables 1 and 2.
