China was a land of Rites, and for this reason, social etiquettes in the past had been rather elaborate with various greetings symbolizing different meaning and purpose.
1. Hand-shake Greeting
This is probably the most common way of greeting for chinese.
This means that when two persons meet, they will shake hand with one another (usually using the right hand). When they say good bye to each other, they also shake hand. Hand-shaking is not just a chinese practice, it is common in almost every other culture. Hand-shaking is considered a polite way of making a relationship closer with a slight bow.
