Aflatoxins were analyzed in dried fruits and nuts according to
the method reported by Stroka, Anklam, Jorissen, and Gilbert
(2000). Briefly, in 10 g of pistachio, peanut, and walnut, 1 g of
NaCl added and blended with 40 ml of methanol/water (80:20) and
20 ml of cyclohexane for 3 min. After separation of the two phases,
cyclohexane was eliminated. For figs and raisins, samples were
extracted only with 40 ml of methanol/water (80:20). Extracts were
filtrated by a Whatman filter paper No. 4.
