while freeing ballot makers from undue precision
requirements. The NVS client uses cameras to
collect the ballot information, which eliminates the
problems associated with the optoelectronic device.
Cameras take two photographs of the front and
back sides of the ballot to capture the information
on the ballot including the voting code and the
write-in candidates' names. The data is processed
and the data transfer module sends the result to
the server.
(2) Data transfer
The CCMVS data transfer method was
changed to expand the capacity since the
communication board is responsible for the low
capacity. NVS uses TCP/IP network as the data
transfer platform with Winsock programming
interface to implement the communication between
hosts.
(3) Data management
Compared to the text file mode in CCMVS,
NVS takes advantage of database technologies to
manage the voting information. ODBC architecture
was used to provide a universal system nature.
