It has been seen in Chapter 16, page 439, that materials can be semi-conductors as far as the property of electric current-flow through them concerned. Another, but overlapping, method of grouping uses the magnetic property of materials. For most practical purposes, materials may be grouped as either magnetic or 'non-magnetic' .
In this book certain electrical properties have been dealt with, and these are briefly summarized below. other important properties for other applications will be met by the student during more advanced stages of his studies.
