For the main effect, neutrophil:lymphocyte (N:L) ratios did not differ (P = 0.5233) between treatments, while there was an interaction (P = 0.0001) between time and treatment for CD4:CD8 ratios (Fig. 5). On day 0, the N:L ratio was lower (P = 0.0176) in the VAC pigs than in the CNTL pigs. On day 0 (P = 0.0336), day 3 (P = 0.0128) and day 7 (P = 0.0141), the CD4:CD8 ratio differed between the treatments.
