Jatuchak (JJ) Green is one of the latest Weekend Night Market to open last year in 2014. Located just behind Jatuchak Park, it’s also near the former Talad Rot Fai before they shifted over to Srinakarin Road.
JJ Green Night Market might just be the coolest place to shop in Bangkok, with its much more chilled-out, bohemian vibes when compared to the capital’s gargantuan Chatuchak Weekend Market just down the road.
Part vintage flea market, part local drinking hangout, JJ Green is best visited on Thursday to Sunday evening, from 17:00 to 24:00, although many bars here keeps going until after midnight on Saturday and Sunday night, when the market is at its busiest.
The vibe is very similar to Talad Rot Fai since they also sell vintage stuffs but it’s very much smaller in size. Now with JJ Green Vintage Night Market, you can basically spend half of your day in Chatuchak area. In the afternoon you can go to Chatuchak Weekend Market and in the evening, JJ Green. That is only if you have the stamina to do so.
JJ Green comprises a mix of permanently built shops and bars, whilst local peddlers lay-out their merchandise on makeshift stalls or just spread it over the floor in the large car park at the back. Anybody who enjoys Chatuchak Market’s vintage zone will be right at home here; many of the shops specialize in cheap, secondhand clothes and there’s lots of stalls selling genuine retro items such as vinyl CDs, old car models, artwork, antiques and collectables.
