3. Results and Discussion 3.1. Total Phenolic Content
Polyphenols are a broad family of naturally-occurring physiologically active compounds in nutrition and medicine because of their potent antioxidant capacity and possible protective effects on human health [5]. Table 1 shows the total phenolic content estimated to be in the range from 95.17 to 275.68mg GAE/g DMl depending on extraction solvents. Skupień et al. [18] reported that the TPC in blueberry (Vacciniumcorymbosum L.) leaf extracts was 111.5 mg/100g dried leaves. Generally, the TPC of plant extracts increased by increasing polarity of solvent and can also be affected by extraction method such as soxhlet extraction, conventional extraction, etc. [9]. The solvents used in this study can be arranged as follows (starting from high polar solvents): Moisture> Methanol> Ethanol> Acetone.
