Type of SM Used and Motivations of Using the Convention Specific SM
The respondents were asked to select one of the four available convention specific social networks they used most for the convention (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Blog). The most used SM by the convention attendees was LinkedIn (36.9%) followed by Facebook (34.4%) and Twitter(15.38%). Table 2 shows the result of the convention specific SM usage.
The respondents were asked their perceptions on various motivations of using the convention specific SM (1 = strongly disagree and 5 = strongly agree). The respondents who used the convention specific SM during the convention replied their motivations were; “To get the most up-to-date information regarding the convention” (M = 3.72), “To get useful information about products/services” (M = 3.42), “To get in touch with others” (M =3.36) by the rank of mean (see Table 3).
