The measurement function “Dot gain curve”
is closely related to the function previously
described.
Now, the difference between measured
dot value and reference value is drawn in a
graph.
In this example the measured dot area is
45,4 % on a 50 % reference patch.
Thus the dot gain is 45,4 % - 50 % = -4,6 %.
In this special case the dot gain is a dot
“loss”, because the value is negative.
