In the innermost building, which is unvisitable by the general public. This building is called Chakrapat Phiman hall. It was used as the royal residence proper from king Rama I to Rama III .
The middle one is called Phaisan Taksin hall originally it was used as the dining hall, the merit – making hall and the private. Audience hall by king Rama I , who also died here in 1809 . When king Rama II ascended the throune , he used this hall for the coronation ceremony , which is the ceremony for all coronation ceremonies . It enchrines the figure of the tutelary deity of the nation , which is called in thai Phra Siam Thewathirat . Literally it means the lord who is the divine king of siam.
King Rama IV who had the image cast , belicved that the kingdom had survived through out its history because of the protection of a divine spirit. Therefore he had the image cast to represent this divine protector.
