2. Construction of First Brazilian Ethanol Bus
The bus chassis and the ED95 engine delivered by the Swedish company Scania arrived at
the Brazilian harbour Santos in May 2007 (see Figure 1).

The engine and chassis were transported to the Brazilian company Marcopolo located in the
south of Brazil for the construction of the ethanol bus (see Figure 2). The Scania chassis was
adapted to meet Brazilian standards. The ethanol bus has a length of 12 m, low-entry floor,
air-condition, and a transport capacity of 77 passengers.
